Power Stocks: F&O Stocks at Strong Option Levels
Power Stocks is the AOC screener that lists F&O stocks sitting at a support or resistance where fresh option writing is heavily one-sided, so the level has real positions behind it. It is the strictest of the S/R screeners and suits traders who want a handful of strong setups rather than a long list.

How does a stock become a Power Stock?
It has to pass the S/R Stocks test first: price very close to the reversal price at its support or resistance strike. Then, for a Support power stock, all of these must hold on the same chain reading:
- The support strike is both the highest put OI strike and the highest put OI change strike.
- Puts clearly dominate the fresh OI change across the strikes around support and resistance.
- At the support strike, put OI change is much larger than call OI change, and put OI is also ahead of call OI.
- No strike below support has put or call OI change anywhere near the day's biggest OI change. In plain words, fresh writing is not building further away, lower down.
Is the resistance side the same?
It mirrors the support rules with calls in place of puts: resistance must be the highest call OI and call OI change strike, calls must clearly dominate the OI change, the resistance strike needs call OI change well ahead of put OI change and call OI ahead of put OI, and no strike above resistance can show OI change anywhere near the biggest.
There is one extra check on the resistance side: the time value in in-the-money puts must be clearly higher than the time value in in-the-money calls.
What does a Power Stock look like on the chain?
Take a stock at 1,480 with support at 1,460. The 1,460 PE has added 9 lakh OI today against 4 lakh on the 1,460 CE, and has 21 lakh total OI against 15 lakh for the call. Puts account for the bulk of the day's OI change around the money, and nothing below 1,460 has seen comparable writing. Price drifts down to the support reversal price. That combination is what puts the stock in the Support column.
How often does Power Stocks refresh?
The page polls every 10 seconds while it is visible and pauses in a background tab. A stock can be added to the same column at most once every 10 minutes. Repeats show as a ×N badge on one row; tap it for every signal time, each with its own Historical link.
How do I use Power Stocks to find a trade?
Turn on Screener quick access under Settings, Option chain if you want Live and Historical to open in a popup over the list instead of a new tab.
- Open Power Stocks from the Stock Screener menu. Today's list loads first.
- Look at fresh rows first. A signal from 10:20 is old news by 13:00.
- Tap Live to open the option chain. Check that the put (or call) writing at the level is still growing and that support or resistance has not shifted.
- Use Historical on older signals from past dates to see how similar setups behaved, in the Back Tester.
- Decide entry, stop beyond the level and quantity yourself, then place the trade with your broker.

- 1Support column with its count
- 2×N badge: tap to see every signal
- 3Historical opens the Back Tester
- 4Live opens the option chain
- 5Date picker for past sessions
What are the limits of Power Stocks?
Power Stocks is analysis, not a buy or sell recommendation. It needs AOC Pro or a higher plan; see pricing.
- Strict rules mean few stocks qualify. On a quiet day both columns can be empty.
- The checks look at one chain reading. Writers can unwind within minutes, and the row will still be there.
- It says nothing about news, results or sector moves that can break any option level.
- No entry, target or stop-loss is given.
Frequently asked questions
What are power stocks in option chain analysis?
In AOC, a power stock is an F&O stock trading at its option chain support or resistance where fresh writing is heavily one-sided: the level is both the max OI and max OI change strike, and puts (or calls) clearly dominate the OI change around the money.
How is Power Stocks different from Triple S/R?
Triple S/R needs max OI, max volume and max OI change on one strike. Power Stocks ignores volume but checks how one-sided the OI change is, the put to call balance at the strike, and that no other strike beyond the level is seeing heavy writing.
How often are Power Stocks updated?
The page refreshes every 10 seconds during the session. A stock can re-enter the same column 10 minutes or more after its last signal.
Do I get alerts for Power Stocks?
Yes. In Settings, Notifications, turn on push alerts and select Power stocks. AOC sends an alert when a new stock is added to either column.
